Business Assurance

In response to client demands, we continue to expand our range of Business Assurance Services. These now include risk management, governance reviews, best value reviews, internal audit, due diligence and training courses for staff and members of Boards and Audit Committees. We have an enthusiastic team of business assurance auditors who are qualified internal auditors.

Focus continues to change with the current spotlight very much on risk management and the application of principles derived firstly from the report of the Turnbull Committee and subsequently various versions of the Combined Code, the most recent being June 2008.

The framework for internal controls assurance for RPs (formerly RSLs) was set by the Housing Corporation in 2001 and updated in 2007.  TSA requires a move to a more holistic approach to internal control, moving away from the limitations of financial systems. As our existing clients will be aware, this broader, added value approach has been a consistent theme in our internal audit service for many years.

We continue to see a high demand for due diligence services. These principally take the form of business plan reviews for new stock transfer organisations and mergers/takeovers of existing RPs. We also offer a more comprehensive service within our Forensic department such as Anti-fraud consultancy.
