Business Planning for Registered Providers and Validation

Business Planning for Registered Providers and Validation

The need for increasingly flexible and responsive business planning tools is more relevant than ever as Registered Providers develop increasingly sophisticated Asset Management Strategies; incorporate detailed component costing; review stock option appraisals; and react to new opportunities and challenges.

Funders and other stakeholders increasingly require independent validation of the resulting business plans and we have extensive experience of validating all the major business planning models for funders and regulators, drawing on our wide-ranging knowledge of the sector, including gap funding, VAT shelters and stock transfers.

We have undertaken a number of engagements in relation to business plan validations, ranging from full validations for stock transfers of up to 18,500 units, to more bespoke engagements for other housing clients.

Additionally our team have advised Registered Providers on the migration of existing business plans to new models more reflective of current needs of the sector. This includes:

  • selecting most appropriate modelling package;
  • developing the annual plan for Board and Funder approval through to reviewing the new plan on an ongoing basis to assist with treasury management;
  • stock management;
  • option appraisal; and
  • general business management requirements.

Popular business planning models we are familiar with include:

  • HousingBrixx.
  • Capita.
  • Sector.
  • Winforecast.
  • We have also developed our own internal models.

Beever and Struthers is a certified HousingBrixx partner.
