Community

Our head office in Manchester is situated in the residential neighbourhood of St George's and we seek, as sensitively as possible, to take into account the wishes of local residents whilst managing our business and property. We have partnered with and supported several organisations which enable us to provide financial support to projects across Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire that deliver measurable changes to communities.

Forever Manchester
As the firm's chosen charity, we are long standing supporters of Forever Manchester.  They provide funding and support for a range of community projects, including delivering job opportunities, education, work placements, support to cancer patients and much more across Greater Manchester.

We provide free car parking for the Forever Manchester camper van, which is used by the Community Building Team out in the Greater Manchester neighbourhood and as a promotional vehicle.

The Foodbank, Blackburn
We have supported this food bank with donations from staff of food and other personal items.  The food bank is part of the Trussell Trust, working to tackle food poverty and hunger in local communities across the UK.  Founded in 2004, since that time they have helped communities, providing three day emergency food supplies and support to people (including children) in crisis. The firm made a one-off donation of items at Easter and Christmas.

Blackburn Central High School, (BCHS)
We recently formed a partnership with Blackburn Central Highschool (BCHS) where we meet with students selected for mentoring to raise their aspirations, confidence, self-esteem and achievements. Also a lunch and learn event including a tour of Manchester United Football Club. The students are presented with information on who we are, what we do and careers options which the firm can offer. We also stage mock interviews and CV reviews, so pupils are aware of what will be expected for higher education or upon entry to the work environment.

South Manchester Enterprise Network
The South Manchester Enterprise Network is a fast growing and active network of businesses in Hulme, Moss Side and areas of South Manchester.  It provides business support and ideas as well as joining together to deliver community projects of social value.  The Network meets every two months over lunch and alternates the venue among 30 plus key private and social businesses in the area.  The Network is supported by a Steering Group made up of representatives from Laing O'Rourke, City South Manchester Housing Trust, Manchester Science Park and Manchester City Council.

HIVE Ambassador
We are members of the HIVE Ambassador network, a thriving business community with a common interest and commitment to Blackburn and Darwen. As members we are proud to pro-actively promote the region to prospective developers, investors, home owners and visitors.

Lancashare
As Gold members we support Lancashare, a platform which aims to pool the county's resources in one place, getting businesses working together to share opportunities to win work from one another.  Lancashare facilitates business need in the county, provides a means of sharing products, services, knowledge and expertise across the county and keeping the money within Lancashire.  The platform is filled with local suppliers, tenders, training providers, networking groups, awards and advice.
