Case study Interface controls

For a group structure client, we conducted a review of the SUN finance system and the associated systems required to interface into it, including those from the repairs and other subsidiaries. We were asked to identify both system and manual controls to ensure data accuracy. We produced process maps for each interface and tested the outputs of management information relying on interfaced data to ensure accuracy. Recommendations were aimed at improving reconciliation, further automation and data cleansing. The client will use the process maps to help with getting the specification for a new system right first time.
