I’m I’m Julie, I’m a Senior Manager in our Risk Assurance and Advisory team, where I lead on internal audit and counter fraud work. With over 17 years’ experience across sectors including local government, education, charities, tech and the public sector, I help organisations strengthen governance, manage risk, and improve controls – all while building strong, collaborative relationships along the way.

My story
I’ve always loved asking questions, solving problems, and making connections – which is probably why I’ve ended up in a job that lets me do all three. My background spans Big 4, local government, schools, charities, and tech – so I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the opportunities in lots of different sectors.
As an internal auditor and counter fraud specialist, I get to step inside organisations, understand how things work, and work with teams to spot risks, improve controls, and build better systems. It’s a bit like being a detective – every project is different, and every day brings something new to learn.
I do this too…
Fitness is a big part of my life – I’m a qualified group fitness instructor and mentor, running a range of classes for people of all ages and abilities. I love creating a positive, inclusive space where people feel supported to push themselves and grow.
I’m also a Non-Executive Director at a large Birmingham-based Multi-Academy Trust, where I’ve spent the last four years supporting strategy, governance, financial planning and leadership. It’s another way I get to give back – and help others succeed.
