Richard Hindley

Senior Manager

I’m Richard and I take care of the SME team, reporting to the Director and Partners of our department.

I mainly review the accounts work passed to me, which I find really interesting as we have such a diverse array of clients, but every so often, I enjoy getting my hands dirty preparing accounts.

Making visits to clients is enjoyable, as I love to be a knowledge sponge, seeing them proudly explaining their business process to me even if sometimes, I need to be told twice to understand it.

The nitty-gritty
Fellow Chartered and Certified Accountant (FCCA)

My story
Having had an unhealthy interest in studying the statistics of the football league in the mid 80’s, I got a job in the accounting profession at the very young age of 16 years and 3 days way, way, back in 1988 taking on all roles within a small practice, and through mergers have found myself here at Beever and Struther since 2007 where I completed my qualifications soon after.

I welcome all tasks that come across my path, some more than others, but utilise my wealth of experience to give the client or staff member what they require and hopefully pass the knowledge and experience on to all.

Sharing my knowledge both inside and outside of the work environment is important to me and I have held various committee posts outside of the working environment mostly relating to Sunday League football and Crown Green Bowling.

I do this too…
My passion is Crown Green Bowling which has been extremely important in my work/home life balance having played competitively since I was 14 – not such an old person sport after all – I have won many local individual competitions; I represent my county and I am a Life Member of “Lloyd Hotel Bowling Club” my club have won several British Team championships with them. They are based in Chorlton-cum-Hardy so if you ever find yourself there and there is a game on come down and say “Hi”.

When I’m not bowling, which isn’t that often, I do like a good hike or walk with my partner and her Labradoodle, stopping off for the occasional craft beer in the sunshine. Getting outdoors is a must, fresh air and exercise help wash away any stresses of the day.
