Social Mobility and Inclusion

Why Social Mobility matters to us

At Beever and Struthers, achieving better is at the heart of everything we do. It’s about continuous improvement – not just for our clients, but for our people, our industry, and our communities.

We know that talent is everywhere, but opportunity isn’t.  That’s why social mobility is so important to us.  We believe that where someone starts in life should never define how far they can go.

A More Inclusive Future

We’re committed to:
Unlocking potential, not favouring backgrounds – The best people come from all walks of life.  Our focus is on skills, ambition, and potential – not where someone went to school or who they know.

Reflecting the communities we serve – With offices in Manchester, London, and Birmingham, we work with a wide range of businesses, charities, and individuals.  Our workforce should reflect that same diversity.

Creating a stronger, fairer industry – Professional services have traditionally been harder to access without connections.  We want to change that by making our sector more open and welcoming to all.

Living our values – Social mobility is a natural part of our culture. Our Equality and Diversity Policy is built on fairness, opportunity, and ensuring that everyone has the chance to succeed.

What We’re Doing About It
Expanding opportunities – From apprenticeships and work placements to mentoring and career pathways, we’re committed to opening doors for people from all backgrounds.

Removing barriers – We actively review our recruitment processes, work with schools and community groups, and ensure financial constraints don’t limit opportunities.

Championing diversity – We are proud members of pro-Manchester’s EDI committee and working alongside other organisations to make a real impact through initiatives like the Social Mobility Focus Group.

Embedding change – We regularly review our policies, training, and outreach efforts to make sure we’re not just talking about change but delivering it.

Social mobility isn’t just a concept—it’s something we’re actively working to improve every day.  Because achieving better isn’t just about business success.  It’s about creating opportunities, removing barriers, and making a real difference to people’s lives.
