Ann Bibby

Partner

I’m Ann and I advise a variety of clients on various aspects of direct taxes. I started my career as an auditor and qualified as an accountant over 20 years ago. However, I felt that my real vocation was in tax as I believe helping clients save tax would be more rewarding whilst challenging as tax is forever changing. I enjoy the different complexities of clients’ affairs and navigating the tax legislation to achieve the most tax-efficient outcome. Providing a range of tax services for companies, individuals, and entrepreneurs, understanding that tax planning is not just about one tax but ensuring the relationship between all of the taxes for companies that might affect entrepreneurs and vice versa. It is important that I build lasting relationships and my focus on service delivery reflects this.

My story
I qualified as an accountant and tax advisor with a local Birmingham firm, but wanted to expand my horizons and joined an international firm to gain pure tax experience. I then decided to join a Big 4 firm to gain experience before joining a smaller international firm and making partner. I took a small career break to look after my children, then returned to the profession working, in a firm of solicitors before deciding that the accountancy profession was where I belonged. I have looked after a range of clients from AIM-listed companies to sole traders and landed estates.

I have recently been working on a number of land transactions involving farmers, charities and companies which has been particularly interesting.

I do this too….
I love the mountains and attempt to ski every season with my family, and when I am not skiing, I exchange the slopes for the stables in my spare time helping my two daughters look after their ponies.
