Narinder Sandher

Partner

I’m Narinder, one of the Partners in our Risk, Assurance and Advisory team (we call it RAA for short and previously known as Internal Audit), working very closely with my fellow Partners, Lee, Helen, and Michael, as well as all the other wonderfully talented people in the team. The work we do helps our clients enhance their approach to risk management and governance, and we strive to deliver a service that is valued by our clients.

In the main, I work for not-for profit organisations in sectors such as social housing and education – it’s something I’ve been doing since the early ‘noughties’ and I continue to enjoy the challenge and sense of satisfaction that it brings. My clients are very important to me, and I value the relationships that I have built up over the years.

My story
Career wise, my interest in internal audit started when I was subject to audit whilst I worked in the foreign exchange sector after leaving university, so I pursued this as a career after that. The first step was working for a local authority where I spent four years being trained and coached by a great group of colleagues and professionals. My next move was to a top 10 practice firm where I got the opportunity to work with the education, charities, and social housing sectors.

In December 2019 I joined Beever and Struthers as a Director of Internal Audit, becoming a Partner in January 2023. I really enjoy working with people, problem solving, and coaching the people that work with me, so Beever and Struthers was a great fit for me.

I have developed my interest in IT Audit, and I now lead our Cyber and Data Assurance team, just another area of expertise of the wider RAA team. I can’t wait to see how this story develops.

I do this too…
I really enjoy photography, particularly what people refer to as street photography, which in essence is the candid capture of humanity, recording real moments. It’s just as well that I enjoy travelling and have been fortunate in being able to practice my photography on the road.

I have spent a lot of time in Spanish speaking countries and so I’ve taken the opportunity to practice my self-taught Spanish – it’s getting there – but the best thing about travelling is meeting people from different cultures and making friends across the world.
