I’m Simon and I am one of the tax managers. I have a broad knowledge of most taxes and I have a particular interest in inheritance tax and trusts. I find this interesting as the planning is client focussed with their family’s circumstances taken into account, and as such it is not a one size fits all approach.
One of the most interesting things about tax is the constant change. Over the last 20 years in tax, the world seems to have become a lot smaller with international aspects coming to the fore. The other main change is technology from the way we do our work and new assets such as cryptocurrency.

My story
I joined the firm over 15 years ago and undertook my professional training here. I have worked with many different personalities and learnt valuable lessons along the way. My role now includes bringing through the next generation of tax advisors which is rewarding, but at times it can make you wince when you consider how you were at their stage of their career.
I do this too….
My personal life revolves around my young children whether it be taking them to parties, swimming lessons or the local parks. My favourite times are family holidays where we can all relax and demolish the all-inclusive buffet whilst the children do a man vs food style challenge on the ice cream.
